It still boggles my mind how many of the people I talk to haven’t the foggiest idea how far down the rabbit hole we really are in terms of our national debt. Our country is doomed to follow in the footsteps of the Roman Empire and other world leaders who got too big for the britches and neglected to realize what it is that made them successful. Without a swift kick in the pants, I don’t think the majority of Americans will ever wake up to what’s really going on and how it all affects them, both indirectly and directly.
It can be an uphill battle at times trying to educate people on such things as most shy away from discussing politics in fear of offending someone, sounding stupid or by not realizing its personal significance in their day-to-day lives. It saddens me that some people williningly hand over their great power as American citizens to government officials, trusting they have our best interest at heart out of fear or laziness (the main reason is still yet to be detirmined). This is not the American way.

“I hope my work will create conversation and reach people on a deeper level,” as stated on McNaughton’s website. “I like to use metaphor and multiple levels of meaning to reach my viewer. If it makes them think and feel, then it is successful.”
Some Americans refuse to lie down and give up their rights. They will do whatever they can (as small and insignificant as it may seem in the greater scheme of things) to preserve the American way our forefathers set before us. One such great American is John McNaughton, an artist who has been labeled “controversial” and many more malicious attacks by the left for his subtle, yet obvious paintings depicting President Obama stepping on the Constitution, enslaving American citizens with his un-American policies and other scenarios. For those quick to judge, McNaughton explains his position behind the work. “I don’t place all the blame on Obama. On my website I try to explain what each president has done,” he said. “The thing I like about the painting is that it does get people talking.” McNaughton definitely has a lot of people talking and regardless of your political or sociological beliefs, talking about these issues will only lead to a more informed American public.

I’m a World War II Veteran, naitive Californian, Catholic,Retired, Tax Payer who finds your references to Barack Obama out-of-place and certainly out-of-touch with the real world. I personally witnessed the bad side of your tea party movement.. Appears you are part of it!
Should I list my credentials before commenting too or just speak my opinion? How am I out of touch with the rest of the world? If anything, you are, sir. Unless you have forgetten the November 2010 election, there are far more people in America who agree that Obama is doing a horrible job. As a WWII veteran, you should understand more so than most what can happen when socialism rots away individual freedom. I’m a veteran as well, but it doesn’t take seeing war to realize our country is going in the wrong direction. I wrote the article on John McNaughton to spark conversation, something that is key to Americans understanding what’s going on around them. Would you rather Americans blindly follow Obama over the cliff?
buddy, your idea of Obama is meant to do nothing but get people all riled up without presenting a clear view of the facts. You act like what Obama has done and is doing is somehow destroying America. but yet study after study has shown, the Stimulus package did work, for what we put into it, his Health care deal, has a good number of great things in it, keeping people on health insurance plans, and offering lower cost subsidized plans to those in poverty, expanding coverage to millions. The GM bailout worked perfectly, the money is paid back, essentially all of it, and GM is now making RECORD PROFITS, and is back on top. not to mention his getting Osama, and passing more fuel efficient car standards. sure he’s’ done stuff i don’t agree with, but i don’t go around pretending that he is somehow destroying America. Do you know what the NEW DEAL was? when taxes on the super rich were upwards of 90 percent? when FDR directly interfered with the private market, imposing price controls, and massive government work programs? and we came out of that stronger than ever. What Obama has done is nothing extreme, not by a long shot. learn the facts, and learn history. stop trying to build this fear machine against the President.
Do YOU know what the New Deal was? You obviously are misinformed to the point of it being laughable if it weren’t so scary. I would challenge you to do a little homework and research what you talk so strongly about before you blindly regurgitate what liberal textbooks and media platforms have told you. FDR caused the Great Depression. He didn’t stop it. The free market economy works. I would venture to say you have never ran a business and know nothing about how businesses work. Raising taxes on anyone, especially the job creators, does nothing but hinder economic growth. That’s Economics 101.
