A ceremony was held marking a construction milestone at the site of the new World Trade Center. 4 World Trade Center Tower’s final beam was placed on top of the building structure, but not before workers signed the beam and “God Bless America” was performed by gospel singer, BeBe Williams. Tough as nails construction workers were brought to tears as they witnessed the powerful image of the beam rising to the top and recalled memories of the terrorist attacks which took the lives of thousands of Americans on September 11th, 2001.
Developer Larry Silverstein said his motivation was, “to give New Yorkers back the city terrorists tried to take away.” The impressive skyscraper will mark the historical tragedy that shook the world over a decade ago, while showcasing America perseverance and the never-say-die attitude of New Yorkers.
