We have all shopped online at least once in our lives and if not, we have definitely had a parcel or two delivered to us. Having parcels delivered is a great and easy option, makes items more accessible and can save us a lot of time on travelling. But how many of you have missed your parcels? Or maybe you’ve needed to receive a parcel whilst on holiday or had to go away somewhere interstate?

It has happened to me many times and I get quite a few packages through work and personal purchases. Australia Post has come to the forefront of easy self-services to provide consumers with more control over their shipping and online shopping delivery options.

The [email protected] delivery options provide you with the flexibility and choice to have your parcels delivered to wherever you’ll be. So whether you’re at home, work, school or even on holiday, you can alternate your delivery address. The [email protected] options include having your parcel delivered to any number of free 24/7 Parcel Lockers, your most convenient Post Office or your PO Box.

So, instead of getting your parcel delivered to your house or workplace when you aren’t there, you can select the closest 24/7 Parcel Locker point, which can be found at over 250 locations and are flexible and free to use.

You’ll get an email (and SMS if requested) as soon as your parcel arrives. Once your parcel arrives, you’ll have 48 hours to collect it. If you can’t get to the Parcel Locker in time, they’ll move it to the nearest Post Office and update you with the details.

  • Open the AusPost app on your phone, Apple Watch or Android Wear.

  • Scan your unique access code.

  • Pick up your parcel when the locker door opens.

Or

  • Select ‘Enter details’ on the locker screen.

  • Enter one of the following:

    • Your mobile phone number or

    • Your Australia Post Customer Number (you can type it in, or scan the QR code on your MyPost card or the AusPost app)

  • Enter the one-off access code you received with your email or SMS notification.

  • Pick up your parcel when the locker door opens.

What can’t be delivered to Parcel Lockers

There are some things that can’t be delivered to Parcel Lockers, such as alcohol and perishables. Click here to find the full list of exclusions.

Parcels delivered by other carriers

Australia Post will accept domestic and international parcels from other carriers as long as they’ve paid to send them via the Australia Post network.

If the carrier chooses not to use their network, they should contact you – or the sender – to arrange alternate delivery of pick-up options.
