Earlier this week, all-star outfielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Andrew McCutchen, received a bit of flack for tweeting his frustration while enduring a three-hour layover on his way to represent the Buccos in the 2012 MLB All-Star Game.

So in Minneapolis and delayed til 11:10 central time … #Awesome … Giants players=private jet … Pirates=coach.

McCutchen later responded to the backlash from members of the sports media and fans, some up in arms against the Pirates’ organization for being cheap and others showing their lack of empathy for a millionaire whining about “normal-people problems.”

McCutchen’s “flying coach” tweet controversy was even argued on PTI (Pardon the Interuption). At the end of the day, at least now the Buccos are being featured on primetime sports shows and there is no doubt Andrew McCutchen is a vital component to their recent success.
