Burger King now offers – get this – a Bacon Sundae! Yea, you heard me correctly. Now, if you’ve ever been to Burgatory in Pittsburgh and were man enough to attempt their Apple Pancakes and Bacon Milkshake or someplace else with “highdeas” in the chef department, adding bacon to ice cream is not a new concept. Sweet and salty goes hand in hand together (i.e. French fries dipped in a Wendy’s Frosty or potato chips dipped in ice cream) and bacon on anything equals success. Hell, if it wasn’t for bacon, I wouldn’t know what the hell a water chestnut was.
Burger King’s Bacon Sundae consists of vanilla soft-serve ice cream with fudge and caramel, topped with crumbles of bacon and a thick-cut hardwood smokes bacon strip for dipping, triumphantly poking out of the artery-slapping masterpiece. The Bacon Sundae is a diabetic’s worst nightmare, weighing in at a whopping 510 calories with 18 grams of fat and 61 grams of sugar. In other words, it’s delicious!
