Kurt Angle (Olympics 1996)

Pittsburgh native and wrestling legend, Kurt Angle, is up there with Bruno Sammartino as the greatest professional wrestlers to ever come from the Steel City. Before he was a professional wrestler in the WWF, WWE and TNA Wrestling, Kurt Angle won gold in the Olympics in 1996. Doing so, Angle immortalized himself among America’s greatest Olympians.

Kurt Angle is now in a different kind of fight. He’s battling the International Olympic Committee’s decision to drop wrestling in the 2020 Olympics. Wrestling has been part of the modern day Olympics since the inception of the modern day Olympic Games in 1896. Angle is leading the fight against their decision to drop wrestling in the Olympics, which is one of the oldest sports in the Olympic Games.
