Saturday Night Live has made a name for itself as supporting the Democrat Party, especially in recent years. Constantly on the butt end of their jokes are the Republicans and whoever opposes our Campaigner in Chief, President Obama. Following scandal after scandal and the horrendous launch of HealthCare.gov and Obamacare as a whole, the approval rating for Obama is at an all time low with 53-percent disapproving of the President’s job in office according to the latest Gallup poll. You would think with all these ongoing problems, President Obama would lose some of his supporters, but there are some “Obama Zombies” still clinging to the hope and change mantra of the 2008 Presidential Campaign.
One of Obama’s largest groups of blind followers has to be the black voters in America who remained in support of Obama despite horrible black unemployment rates, a record number of Americans on food stamps, and the fact that for the first time in American history, welfare recipients outnumber full time workers. This didn’t seem to matter much to those who share the same complexion as the President as 93% of them still voted for him in 2012, down only 3% from 2008. In a random reality check, Saturday Night Live poked fun at these racially charged numbers.
“We’re closing in an a year since Barrack Obama’s reelection and it’s been a disappointing month for the President. The most recent Gallup pole puts his approval rating at a disappointing 42% among all voters, but perhaps the more troubling number for the President…his approval rating with black voters has dropped to a startling 93.6%.”
All jokes aside, the reality of the percentage of black voters who blindly pulled the D-lever just because Obama is black is disturbing. Not only do most of them not know how his policies are negatively impacting them personally, they pass the blame on everyone else but Obama when his policies blow up in his face. If 93% of whites voted for Mitt Romney in 2012, there would be an all out race war in America with the main message that all white people are racist. It seems to be a matter of simply voting for the guy who looks like me rather than the guy who can do the job.
