The hypocrisy in the media and society in general when it comes to race relations is mind-boggling at times. There is a great double standard when it comes to outspoken liberals and conservatives and how the world treats those individuals. The latest victim of a verbal public stoning was African-American actress, Stacey Dash.
Dash, star of the 90s hit Clueless and shows like CSI, has been on the receiving end of a firestorm of racially charged hate due to her recent support of Republican Presidential candidate, Mitt Romney on Twitter.
“Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future. @mittromney @teamromney #mittromney #VOTE #voteromney,” Dash wrote on her official Twitter page along with a photo of the gorgeous actress with an American flag.
Minutes later, her Twitter page was bombarded by enraged Obama supporters making death threats and lashing out against her using racial slurs and hateful language. The coverage of this has been twisted and turned by the liberal media to discredit Stacey Dash and justify the violent rhetoric against her.
Instead of back-peddling to the mob of Obama zombies like most celebrities tend to do, Dash stood her ground, re-tweeting, “Women have had enough of @BarackObama’s disappointment. We need new leadership to get our economy growing again…”
It’s a sad day in America when a U.S. citizen is publically assaulted for “not being black enough” and supporting a Presidential candidate because of the color of her skin. Support for Stacey Dash has been flooding the social media world, but we need to work harder to fight against the attack of freedom of speech because if it can happen to her, it can happen to any of us.
