When Robert Russell had his beloved 1967 Austin Healy stolen from his home in Philadelphia back in 1970, he vowed to scour the earth in search of recovering it. 42 years later, redemption is finally his.
“Ever since eBay showed up, I’d check it periodically,” Russell said. “I checked it on Friday, May 11, and there it was.”
Russell spotted what he thought was his stolen antique sports car on eBay and after checking the vehicle identification number against his title certificate, which he had kept for over four decades. He immediately notified the Beverly Hills Car Club and informed them they were selling a stolen vehicle.
The vehicle has since been returned to Mr. Russell, who now resides in Texas. The 1967 Austin Healy is now valued at $23,000, $20K more than what he paid for it back in the 60′s.
